Senior VP of Product, Chris Alberding, to Join Industry Leader Panel at WAN Summit San Jose

Waltham, MA, USA, May 25, 2017 Global Capacity, the leading connectivity as a service company, today announces its participation at WAN Summit San Jose, taking place June 14-15, 2017 in San Jose, CA.  The WAN Summit, held across the globe in New York, San Jose, Singapore and London, brings together corporate WAN strategists and service provider executives to discuss common industry challenges, gain new perspectives, build business relationships, and explore the latest trends and technologies that shape today’s WAN strategies.

On Wednesday, June 14, Global Capacity’s Senior Vice President of Product, Chris Alberding, will join industry executives from The GAP, GTT and Riverbed on the panel, “Hybrid Transformations – Experiences with Adopting SD-WAN and Integrating Internet into the WAN.”  The panel, moderated by Steve Garson, Founder and CEO of SD-WAN Experts, will discuss insights and learning from SD-WAN deployments, including designing the right network that incorporates a variety of access and network technologies.  Panelists will further discuss approaches to planning and mitigating risk in WAN transformation, the cost impact of deploying an SD-WAN solution, and how it will influence the relationships of customers with their service providers.

“One of the key characteristics of a SD-WAN is that it brings increased agility and automation to networks, which in turn delivers more business value.  Along with that value transformation comes an increase in network complexity,” explains Chris Alberding, SVP of Product at Global Capacity.  “Global Capacity’s managed SD-WAN service provides an improved network experience, resolving common WAN problems businesses face when building and managing complex Hybrid WAN architectures.”

Global Capacity’s recently announced SD-WAN service allows businesses to efficiently route data across their network by first choosing the right access connectivity based on the performance needs of individual locations and applications, then define unique policies to automatically prioritize traffic, enabling enterprises to make better use of bandwidth to enhance performance and overall user experience.

Global Capacity’s One MarketplaceTM provides Enterprises with real-time design, pricing, ordering and management of a broad portfolio of connectivity services.  The Marketplace provides transparency into services pricing and visibility into available capacity and performance across multiple access networks and geographies. The key innovation of the world’s first network marketplace is the automation of a hybrid of service provider pricing, infrastructure data and unique business rules, and the real-time delivery of multiple engineered Hybrid WAN options.  Global Capacity’s One Marketplace dramatically simplifies and fundamentally changes how Enterprises buy and manage SD-WAN connectivity.

Start evaluating if SD-WAN is right for your network, request a meeting at WAN Summit San Jose or a follow up consultation  with Global Capacity to learn why Enterprises and Cloud Providers are turning to Global Capacity for simple, cost-effective and high-performance SD-WAN solutions.

About Host in Ireland

Host in Ireland, winner of the Datacloud Europe 2016 award for Innovative Data Center Location, is an industry-led marketing initiative that provides timely and accurate information about Ireland’s digital asset hosting ecosystem at all times including demonstrating why Ireland is more cost-effective, efficient, reliable, secure and accessible than most other regions across the EU.  There's a reason companies like Microsoft, Zendesk, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Adobe and beyond have sought to host their solutions in as well as to/from Ireland.  Many of these reasons are immediately realized due to access to affordable power, redundant network and bandwidth capacity along with a variety of data center providers that offer an array of services sustained by the “5 Ps”: Policy, People, Pedigree, Pipes, and Power.  On top of that is a very attractive business management structure, implemented by Ireland, which is keenly interested to bring new businesses into the market.  Ireland supports this initiative through attractive fiscal structures, access to a skilled workforce and full support of the U.S. Safe Harbor and Patriot Acts - ensuring data asset compliance for companies large and small.  For more information about Host in Ireland, visit

Joint Win in the Innovative Infrastructure Category Honors Partnership That Allows Enterprises to Access Transatlantic Capacity on AEConnect via Megaport’s Global SDN

DUBLIN – May 23, 2017 — Aqua Comms DAC ("Aqua Comms"), the operator of Ireland’s first dedicated subsea fibre-optic network interconnecting New York, Dublin and London, and Megaport (USA) Inc, the US subsidiary of Megaport Limited (ASX: MP1) (“Megaport) and the leader in global Software Defined Networking (SDN), today announce their joint win of a Global Telecoms Business (GTB) award in the Innovative Infrastructure category.

Taking place May 23, 2017 in London, the GTB Telecoms Innovation Summit, Showcase and Awards gathers mobile operators, carriers, service providers, equipment manufacturers, and application developers to share and recognise successful collaborations in the telecoms industry that demonstrate innovation in their respective sector.  Winning the GTB award for Innovative Infrastructure, Aqua Comms and Megaport were recognised for their partnership where Megaport accesses Aqua Comms’ America-Europe Connect (“AEConnect”) system and enables elastic interconnection to its transatlantic subsea cable network.  Enabling enterprise customers to access transatlantic capacity on AEConnect via Megaport’s global Software Defined Network (“SDN”), the innovative partnership is the first phase of a larger collaboration between Aqua Comms and Megaport that may include additional capacity and terrestrial landings.

“We’re extremely honored to receive the Global Telecoms Business award for Innovative Infrastructure in recognition of our partnership with Megaport,” states Nigel Bayliff, CEO, Aqua Comms.  “Cloud growth, along with the increase of Over-the-Top content and webscale providers, is driving the surge in global data traffic.  Our partnership with Megaport, which enables its customers to rapidly connect their network to cloud services and data centres across the world via elastic interconnection to AEConnect, points not only to the increasing importance of submarine cables, but to how collaboration leads to innovation.”

Customers can rapidly provision services including direct cloud connections and Point to Point transport between the U.S. and Europe, each way, to enable multi-cloud, multi-region, and hybrid cloud architectures.  Consistent with all Megaport enabled networking services, customers can consume elastic bandwidth on the Aqua Comms system, pay for what they use, and adjust it according to their changing business requirements.

“Megaport’s partnership with Aqua Comms enables enterprises to utilise subsea capacity in an unprecedented way,” states Vincent English, CEO of Megaport.  “Enterprises are increasingly architecting for multi-region, multi-cloud deployments.  Through our joint solution, customers can right-size capacity to their business requirements and enable rapid scaling of connectivity for their cloud-based applications, while bypassing the internet for improved security and predictable performance.  Aqua Comms has proved itself the ideal provider of transatlantic bandwidth to deliver these critical connectivity services.”
